We walk the earth
created in an image
that we can't as humans fathom
faceless is the Keeper
of our faiths
and we be not all alike
amongst us
walk
talk
live
love
the non-believers
hypocrites subconsciously
refusing to submit
or pray
but in receipt often
of blessings
in which
they do not hesitate
to partake
over time we
the pious of the people
mix and meld
born sinners still themselves
some may get lost
along the way
begin to
do as they do
and stray
from the path
but trust
those that know
know
when they turn for worse
and a back to right
inevitably a fight
between our inner angels
and demons of the flesh
some stand inside the darkness
waiting for their eyes to see
but we fall to our knees
and just as the scripture says
"if a suggestion from Satan assails thy mind,
seek refuge in Allah - fore He hearth and knowth all things"
and in the castration of submission
His mercy and grace He brings
weary but for a minute
cause if you ask Him to
He'll pick you up - dust you off
cause until He takes you
this life...you got to stay in it
