She takes his hand, as she takes a deep breath of air
He pulls her close, takes a step, slowly brushing her hair
Round and Round on the floor she goes
Where her feet will stop, no one knows
Her heart is as pure of the cold winter night
And her feet are so graceful as she dances out of sight
He holds her close, and whispers his dreams
Of beautiful places and love unseen
Spinning and twirling faster they seem
Her eyes glisten so bright from the light beam
They are lost in the embrace of each other’s arms once more
Everyone around them fades into the darkness of the dance floor
He sweeps her outside underneath the night’s ambient glow
Never adverting his gaze from her eyes or her lips below
The rain starts drizzling down their faces, as she removes her mask
Will this dance ever end is the question neither dares to ask.
He lifts her high as she kisses him softly and slowly
I think I love you they whisper in each others ears knowingly
The music slowly fades into the dissipating night breeze
As he takes her hand and slowly falls down to his knee
Her beauty was uncanny and he knew it to be
Forever remembering this night, he set her free…
