Can someone tell me who decided to attempt to do voodoo on the alphabet?
I mean, on the real…who tried to cast a spell on a word in order to spell a word that would have magical powers?
One that could be spoken in the 13th hour and with supernatural abilities contain the capabilities to heal everything
Like some alakazing alakazam alakazi, conducting a séance and the Ouija board spells out the letters
s-o-r-r-y
So now I ask why?
Why do people think that speaking these five letters will make everything better as if you the mere sound of the word represents you flipping a pencil on my head and erasing my memories
This word is not the end all be all remedy to every wrongdoing that has happened and has been penned into my being
For instance, seeing my ex's mouth form these two syllables did no magic for me
It did not saw my anger and frustrations in half,
No rabbits appeared out of a hat,
But instead her watch should have grown rabbit ears because it went broke from her spending all of her time apologizing…

For whenever I was pissed, she thought saying sorry was like sleight of hand that right before my very eyes would make my emotions switch
Man, I'm swear that girl was an effin…..witch
But instead of riding her broomstick, she tried to use it to sweep everything under the rug
Trying to transform ordinary alphabet soup into witches brew… but some hocus pocus will not detract my focus from knowing that the onus of responsibility is on you
The word sorry is not a medication
Cuz if it was, than that shit would be priceless and we'd have fiend out addicts doing everything necessary to get it
Commercials and public service announcements would publicize the cure for everything…

Boss is mad cause you missed your deadline at work…work them over with a sorry
Forgot your anniversary…verse how you're sorry
Gave someone AIDS…aid them with a sorry
But unfortunately, sorry is not a tissue that can absorb someone's tears
And I'm tired of people throwing sorries around like spears hoping that it will penetrate one's skin and kill their frustrations
As if sorry could perform an exorcism on one's emotions, yet when I ask what you saying sorry for…I sometimes get the response that you not even sure
Or I'm sure that many of you have heard too, the… "Well I said I'm sorry, what else can I do???"
Like this word is the alpha and omega and everything in between
Well you can you remove your chicken foot from your mouth and place it back in the boiling water
Huddle around the pot and recite your "double double toil and trouble" and keep hoping that your sorry God will come when you beckon
Instead I'd rather find people who's sorries had the escape techniques of Houdini to free itself from their vocabularies cuz they choose to think first and act second.
