This is imagery blended with metaphors.
This piece has a deeper meaning..............
The Desert Rose-
I’m the splendor that’s sown in the mild wastelands
Unhindered and thrown in the wild, never to grace man
My face is grand as I count a thousand laces of tan
This place is damned, but I still stand just to taste sand
I long to scatter my seeds in the rain shower breeze
I pray u flatter my needs, but instead u shatter my leaves
Like the desert rose, growing thorns to protect my beauty
Every time the wind blows, holes are torn were my roots be
Scorning my duty, I live only to give life to twenty spores
Who in turn live then burn but before reproduce plenty more
In the wind they soar the globe and seduce many shores
Taking to the earth or sand, dirt or land we use any floor
As pennies pour the price of forty million dollars of rain
My answered prayers leave me bare but water the grain
Dying slow as liquids overflow my veins, I lay in slaughtered pain
But content with what I gain, cuz my sons and daughters remain
Metaphoric words of wisdom, I hope you obtain my advice
You don’t live twice and all great things contain a high price
Deaths the best part of life, gladly give your lives as the cost to pay
So although I’m washed away, I can say I haven’t lost the day
