"Through the Eyes of a Black Man"
  by poetic crack

Through The Eyes of a Black Man

See the world through the eyes of a black man,
Maybe you don’t know how cause you grew up being a rap fan,
Yeah 2pac laced the block, but 48 bars from jay z or fifty cent cant explain it,
Keeping it real Nas, Common and Kanye were the closest ones to ever say it ,
Not even BET , UPN , or the WB can portray it ,
But it’s a blessing they gave opportunities to a lot of black actors,
Its just too bad it doesn’t help with us dope dealers and car jackers,
Who’ve always been contestants on society’s version of fear factor,
Not even a chain locked around a roots box set can contain it,
So hard to picture not even Da Vinci or Picasso can paint it,
Now imagine being born in a country were color separates class even if you’re a millionaire ,
Of course they love Oprah Winfrey she’s a fuckin billionaire,
Crazy isn’t it though, without those cameras,
Not even she could spend money in that fancy store,
What does that message imply or say,
It resonates that 400 years later ignorance is still the same as the first day,
Yeah in four centuries they gave us a couple of rights,
Let us join their military and partake in a couple of fights,
But well always be under the microscope or forever burning spotlights,
Especially gangs like the bloods and crips,
Whose mission these days seems like its genocide until the apocalypse,
WOW, then you got those NBA ballers,
Taking chances city 2 city with inappropriate callers,
Take Kobe Bryant , wicked jump shot, capable of flying through the air, clean cut, role model, got the fans screaming,
Made 1 bad decision now the same fans screaming electric chair,
Already guilty; from a white girls mere allegation,
When just a day before millions of kids wearing that number 8 jersey throughout our entire nation,
But since he’s a black man,
Cemetery plot already planted,
But don’t expose the victim she didn’t lie she just recanted,
Now kill the endorsements and commercials,
That shit ain’t fair,
Then you got Kramer saying he’d hang us and stick a fork in our ass,
While Don Imus calls our sisters nappy headed hoes and America sits back and laughs, But I guess were forced to accept it,
Because they’ll put us behind bars if we ever try to protect it,
So if you were forced to wear my shoes,
Would you still be able to stand?
Before you answer that question,
Look at it through the eyes of a BLACK MAN.
