©To My Heart

… I pledged allegiance to my heart.
Fragile, given to me put together.
Never to be stolen & crushed, but to be found.
I pledged allegiance to my heart.
Promise I’d acknowledge it,
That neglection would never come its way
For I never longed such trauma & damaged.
I pledged allegiance to my heart.
Said I’d follow you --
But played victim & trailed behind him.
I pledged allegiance to my heart,
But he came & tore my pledge apart.

if i had a special way of givin you props for this i'd do so. this is fire though. i like the repetition of the phrase "I pledged allegiance to my heart."
