too late to apologize
for the abuse
used to verbalize hurt that ached
like the
cardiac quakes
i lay in

resting at night unpeacefully, lights dimming
more and more
as hours passed and arguments lasted
until
early morning realizations came that
no matter
how much patience I had
you were never gonna change

pulling through
as the person that you always knew as self
needing help

however-
I would always here you say:
"theres always another day"
like-
24 hours would
somehow tamper with the actions of a boy
that eventually started to hit his
woman...
as I lay
sexed and swollen
bruised and reused for convenience

...and...

no need for pleading
cause I no longer believe your lies-
its too late to 'pologize
