Tropical storm showering
Attacking the erect leaves and blades of grass
Until the leaves and blades of grass go limp
Crash!
Thunder and lightening appear
Screeching screams echo across the forest plain
Momentarily overlapping the rain drops
Drips sliding down the brown bark of each tree
Slowly trickling off the lip of each branch
More rain
Harder rain
Now pouring rain
Such flooding rain
Gaining momentum
Screeching screams of wind and thunder become louder
Taking a voice of their own
Building from a whimper
Erupting in an Earth shaking outburst
Such powerful lightening
Teaming with the wind knock a mighty Oak
Dropping it down to its knee
A disfigured stump
Caught in this tropical storm’s war path
Limp leaves rustle
Swaying back and forth
To and fro
Seemingly wiping the rain from bark
Puddles formulate
Lifeless streams irrigate
A force not of Mother Nature’s creation to mediate
Take notice
Observe the source of such storm
The never ending
Sorrow filled
Downpour
The angry
Relentless lightening
The depressed wail of wind and thunder
When you gaze into that tropical sky
You are gazing into my eye
Because without you
I scream
And I cry
