As the sun gradually rises each day
my life sometimes is like the summer’s heat,
temperatures succinctly rising
creating an atmosphere
hot and humid.

Sitting, I seek shelter from the
blazing heat of the day
underneath
the ground sweeping branches
of the old weeping willow tree
that
overshadows me,
basking in the coolness
of its shade.
traces of teardrops
trickling down
my face
and I wonder
what more in life
is there to come
my way;

Finding solace there,
I peer through the leaves
of the swaying branches
gliding back and forth
to and fro,
feeling the coolness
of a shallow breeze
that swiftly passes by
And I wonder . . .

My spirit rising within me
as I begin to
meditate, contemplate and ruminate
on God’s goodness
and mercy;
it is everlasting
throughout all generations
and I find
solace in Him.

There is no one
Greater than He,
The Everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace,
Mighty Counselor,
The Great I Am.

In Him I find
shelter
from the storms of life
in the fiery trials of my life
circumstances and situations,
His Peace acts as an umpire that settles
with finality all the questions and
raging thoughts that arise
In my heart and mind;
He gives me a peace that goes beyond
all human understanding,
He’s my bridge over
troubled waters that
break free in life’s
circumstances that no one
else can calm,

For He has
spoken with authority,
“Let there be Light,” and there is light.
He speaks to my situation”
“Peace. Be Still,” and
it quiets my heart and mind,
my spirit , soul and body;
He quenches all the fiery darts
that the enemy directs at me
in an attempt to defeat me,
Piercing to the core of
my very soul - -
mind, will and emotions.

Therefore, I’ve learned
It’s not just my faith,
but it’s
God’s Faithfulness
to His Promises
concerning me
that protects and
shelters me;
He carries me
through the
fire, the storm
and the rain;
frail as I am
He’s my God
And in Him
I will surely
Trust.

So, I sit leaning
against this
old weeping willow tree,
no longer weeping for
myself and others
that I love
for I have a
Savior in
Whom I can trust.

Put your trust in Jesus,
He will bring you through
the scorching heat of this
life’s journey,
the storms and the rain;
all we have to do
is
to
trust
and
believe
in Him.
