"Understood."
A STYLES C. and Mz Prose Collaboration

  Mz Prose:

dont let me be misunderstood - nina simone

Understand
There is a whispering prayer in your smile
When your lips dip and sink at the bend of my knees
Heaven leaks from your throat
Note the way I walk with the sky underneath my shoes
And its not that the scriptures in your palms
Dont touch me to the point of salvation
I would almost give my soul
to feel your fingertips preach my body wet
to have you baptized underneath the water of my sweat
I just dont
..do these
..other
.... things
Like commitment .
Your kind is too beautiful to neglect
Im just a soul whose intentions are good
No hard shell really
Just carefree
lover with hearts tucked into my sleeve
like a magicians smiling scarves ....
Finding joy in the corner of their colorful lips
Enjoying the way rough smirks feel on my skin
So I cant love you yet
There are grins, that havent touched me yet
Baby, do you understand me now?
No one can always be an angel
They say the sky is brighter on the other side
I just want to feel how soft their clouds are

  STYLES C.:

Understand
Your soul speaks volumes
You create a new metric for decibels

You pull expressions from
stoic faces with baseless reasons
easing my daily tension

..Wait

I spend moments
staring at a lifeless
sometimes defined as spineless
version of a Love-less environment

This sick view is countered by your beautiful
thwart my efforts to fall completely into you

i understand that I'm in need of a kick stand
but being a tortured soul makes me a restricted man

And the soothing touch of your hand
will only produce callouses
they will curse me in the process

Maybe molding Chris requires more strokes than you thought
More force than you can muster from once soft hands

I want nothing more than to reconvene at the foot of your altar
but only when I fix the views surrounding your beautiful

Mz Prose.. you already know.... I am ya fan for real... this piece here??? You being one of the most talented poetesses... Chris ... being one of the most talented Poets.... this is a masterpiece.... the two of you are dangerous when your ink mixes... your reader is pulled inside each side of this piece...and felt as if the heart is lilting under the weight of being...well.... misunderstood...
