"Verbal Warfare"
  by Afroditee

the initial attack was unexpected,
as he thrust and parried with
ineffective, verbal blows,
all hurled to assess the nuances of her structural defenses,
by hurling 'bitchy', 'stupid' scouts
rallied at his personal behest,
to assess the reinforced steel palate of her outer walls.

trifling blows rejected by the external veneer of her confidence,
his rage became more incensed
as he gorged on the rations prepared by
chef ignorance and her homophonic handmaidens,
launching his verbal battalion
with their hissing weaponry of
''whore" !"pussy"! "slut"!...,
bitch slapped words stabbed within the confines of
her insecurity ridden gut,
he reaching in with clenched fist
to retract the remnants of adam’s rib,
which contributed to the birth of the
scornfully defiant female hybrid.

verbal animosity riddled the air with
profane flesh piercing bullets,
armed, and engaged to pierce her core
and to diminish her battlement,
all in preparation for his verbalized despotic rule…;

hissing conjectures searched with
whistling precision to connect with their target,
garnering entrance through her external lobe
traveling through undefended canals
to beat at her ear’s drums,
resounding with staccato repetition
through the inner recesses of her mind…,
merging with sergeant’s doubt and uncertainty,
his internal treacherous reinforcements programmed to
wage the battle from within -
to erode the core form of her outer walls

armored piercing words hissed from his larynx,
as his tongue swelled with expectation
for the release of captive words
freed from its saliva ridden foundation
prepared to land within her ears' expectant reach;

words like vicious shards of glass
embedded in her chest’s breast,
no apologies to be made for engaging the art of war
while splinters remain uninvited guests,
blistering and festering with
every beat of her heart
reconstructing and reformulating itself -
preparing to manifest itself
during the next engagement.

Goodness, this was verbal warfare indeed! You stayed true to the title and the tone of this took on a 'battle' type feel, forceful and filled with rage and disdain. That, in turn, increases the effect of this piece for the reader.. drawing them into the unforgiving tint of your words. Through your own words in this write, you have put across the extent of power words have when used a certain way and how they can seem to hurt, agonize and.. 'reduce' another. Well written, Afroditee!
