"Waiting to Exhale"
  by llovely

staring up at the sky
silver sparkling specks illuminated the dusty night
as a single flame seemingly shot through a deciduous setting.
The air was heavy with the tangy scent
of fresh maple and pine hangling off the trees.
That single shot of flame seemed to light up miles away
as if in no particular destination
like i was just to make its presence known.
She floated ever so quietly.
It was almost surreal the way she moved.
As if it were effortlessly, no force behind it at all.
Mocha hair danced around her face
her eyes locked on the distant flame
so strongly one would have thought
she was trying to lure it in.
Then the light, that loneous light in which
water filled eyes were afixed began to fade
like the quiet, serene closing of a newborns eyes,
full of purity and hope.
Until that spark that set ablaze this dark premiscence subsided.
as if watching the lifting of an angel, in awe, it vanished.
With that image of beauty emblazed forever in her mind,
she succombed to the dark.
silently waiting to exhale.
