"Why a Princess?"
  by Lil Lexis

Sitting on the floor of a room that was just too pink

It would make Pepto-Bismol nauseous..

Dressing Barbie in her flyest

While being warned to remain cautious

I asked her..

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"

And in all seriousness she replied

"A Princess."

Expected. What little girl doesn't want to be?

So I responded with.. "Why A Princess?"

And without looking up from her assorted accessories

She told me

"Because I don't know any."

The words rang in my head as I stared at her..

It wasn't the pretty dresses or servants

or the prestige of being royalty

But she wanted to be a Princess

For the fact that of all who she knew...

She would be the only.

Awww... that's so sweet and different. I really liked this. And I hope we have more children who want to stand out being themselves as opposed to blending in by being what's common. Beautiful piece sis. :)
