"Worried about the Wrong Shit Pt. 2: POETRY"

I AM A HIP HOP POET
And more than half of the GHETTO SOUL knows it
We write for a purpose
We write for a mission
We write about the essence of what poetry is missing
To embark on the literature that comes from the heart
The written works from a language, period or culture
Yet we scrutinize and over criticize our style of poetry like vultures
Can you smell it? The poetry is in your cup like Folgers
There is nothing to savor
But I major
In the business AND the language arts, yet you want to rip my poetry apart
Don't start....closed hearts takes years to open
Or slightly ajar
But my people we are taking this shit too far
I see poetic friends turn against each other
Because their name was used in a flagrant line or another
We need to wake up and really pay close attention
Obviously our minds are so absent blinded
That we're worried about the wrong shit
I AM A HYBRID POET
Giving you different views and different aspects on life
I have you in very deep thought from the beginning and end of my writes
I don't care if you dislike what I bring to this site
They say poetry is losing it's 'art' because the scheme of rhyming
So tell me what you're implying?
That I should go by traditional poetic guidelines?
Do I throw you off with meter and rhymes but give you the pattern
Or should I spit words in a assonance or consonance pattern
I developed my own pattern
Byrd ain't going thru rings and loopholes like a Saturn
Oh shit, am I using similes?
You people are really killing me...are you kidding me?
Poetic inspectors trying to step in my sector?
Step in my realm? You think I suppose to write poetry like you?
If that's what you think, then you are a muthafucking fool
I'm a HOOD POET...like my partna The Hood poet
Giving you twist of my NAPstyles, always stating my truths
I'm a GS POET to the fullest, you poets know my rep
I architect my words like IM-HO-TEP
step-by-step
3rd eye in the center of the Pyramid til my death
Who is you to think we can talk in the same breath?
I'm not here to please nobody's standards
Just giving everyone some food for thought
So mind your table manners
And stop worrying about the wrong shit
