sometimes he is the only one who truly understands
i’ve watched you grow up from a little boy
to a strong grown ass man

we've known each other a minute
a relationship thats not simple
just almost understandable
held together by words, sentences
emotional fences
problems are what has bound us
and when no one esle was around for us
friendship, advice, and good conversation is what found us
lately you hit me up like

we drift away for days and
always meet back around some way
but wait
i wanted to take the time out of my day
to simply say thanks
for bein everything you are
cus in my eyes you are a star
man when i was down and out
and my marriage was at its end
you were there standing tall as my only friend
had my back all the way to the end

cus you just like me in so many ways
look at our lives
this thing wit us is not a phase
so don’t ever think ima up and walk away
no matter what other people say
my friendship will always be that way
i know what people have put you thru
