"You Just Don't"
  by Jicki

How do you forgive the murderer of your father?
Pretty deep question I got from Lupe and still I don't understand.
But it's all hypothetical in any case, whether it's real or not,
so hypothetically, you just don't.

Forgiveness isn't the same for everyone, and sometimes things go
unforgiven
and always things are left unforgotten.
Forgive and forget...forgive but never forget.
You just don't.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned...when a sin against a man
is repented...what sin shall be committed to be erased?
Wipe clean your hands so the stains remain on your white linens
and repent your soul so life can be admitted again.
But really, you just don't.

It never goes away, the pain and the memories remain
constantly on replay in someone's mind, and probably,
most likely yours.
So...how do you forgive yourself?
Hypothetically...realistically,
you just don't.
